Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water & Waterproof Makeup Remover | Review

We all know by now how much the French love their Micellar Cleansing Water. In the recent years, micellar water has been making its way to the states & cosmetic brands all over the globe are starting to carry their own version of it. Micellar cleansing water was created to help Parisian women deal with the region's notoriously harsh waters. Micellar cleansing water has become a makeup kit essential for me. It's a great alternative to remove your makeup when you don't have a sink nearby.
About a year ago, I blogged about Simple Skincare's Cleansing Micellar Water. As mentioned in that post, it didn't remove waterproof makeup. I also mentioned that I wanted to try the Bioderma Micellar Water. I actually did, & I have to say, its pretty amazing & the hype is real. But, the con is, it isn't sold locally, you'd have to order it online. I did, however, find another amazing cleansing water, which in my opinion is pretty much a Bioderma dupe. The Garnier's SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Waterproof makeup remover is legit.  You can find Garnier's Micellar Cleansing Water at your local drugstore & the best part, it's super affordable ($6.99 - $8.99) I got mine at Target for $6.99. I've been using the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof Makeup Remover & Cleanser for about 6 months now & it's been one of my favorites!

I'm big into wearing products that are waterproof and longwearing, but at the end of the day, they can be a pain to remove. I found the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof Makeup Remover to do an amazing job at removing stubborn eyeliner, mascara and lipsticks. This particular formula is also great to break down & remove those long-lasting 10-12 hr wear foundations.
It's no rocket science when it comes to using Micellar Cleansing Water, all you need is a few cotton rounds/pads plus some dirt or makeup to remove. With most Micellar water, you can use it as is. However, the waterproof version is a bi-phase formula so you'll need to shake the bottle well before use. After you evenly combine the top layer w/ the rest of the liquid, you can pour some on a cotton round. To remove waterproof eye makeup, I recommend saturating your cotton with product and pressing it gently (with your eye closed) onto the eye area. Hold and press down the saturated pad for about 10-15 seconds to allow the cleansing water to works its magic. Gently wipe off & repeat (if necessary).

This product claims to contain NO Oil, Alcohol & Fragrance. I do find after using this cleansing water my skin feels hydrated. Since I'm more on the dry side, I like that this product doesn't leave that squeaky clean (over-drying) feeling. Depending on my skin condition at the moment, I like to follow up with a toner. If I'm wearing a full face of long-wearing makeup, I like to start with the micellar cleansing water to break down the makeup. I don't solely depend on this to cleanse my face when I have a lot of makeup on. After removing my foundation, I like to cleanse thoroughly with my clarisonic.

Garnier currently has two micellar cleansing waters out in the states right now. The blue bottle (which this review is about) & the pink bottle. The difference? The blue claims to remove waterproof makeup. If you don't wear too much waterproof makeup, I suggest the pink bottle. I have both & there really is a difference when it comes to removing stubborn waterproof makeup.

If I had to list a few CONS, it would be:
- Doesn't come in a travel size
- Doesn't come in a pump form (I might be a little spoiled from the Bioderma cleansing water that comes with a pump :P)

Have you tried Micellar Cleansing Water? What's your favorite brand? Xo.
