A few months ago I received a deluxe size sample of the Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil. I'm a huge fan of face oils, so I was really excited to try out this product. My skin type is normal/dry and I personally like the hydration I get when using face oils.
Jurlique is an Australian brand that uses natural, bio-organic ingredients.
According to their website, "Jurlique started with a dream: to connect people back to nature."
Jurlique's Skin Balancing Face Oil is a quick-absorbing, lightweight hydrating treatment that helps to balance all skin types, leaving skin feeling smooth, silky, and luminous. It's rich in Safflower Oil, Rose Hip Oil, Avocado Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil and Shea Butter.
It deeply moisturizes, helps to improve skin’s suppleness and elasticity, and addresses signs of uneven texture. It re-balances natural oil production to calm oily areas and hydrate dry skin areas. A great way to protect from moisture loss and environmental aggressors, this formula replenishes the complexion and brings a soft youthful glow to dull, dry skin.
-Evening Primrose Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, and Marshmallow Extract: Intensely hydrate and soften skin, improving its overall condition.
-Rose Hip Oil and Safflower Oil: Soften the look of fine lines and retain skin’s moisture levels.
-Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, and Jojoba Oil: Provide emolliency and give skin a smoother, healthier-looking appearance.
-Carrot Root Extract: Provides essential vitamins and nutrients.
The deluxe sample bottle is very similar to the full size. The oil is stored in a amber colored glass bottle & has a built in dropper.
I have been using the skin balancing face oil in the morning for over 6 weeks now & have noticed a difference in my skin. When I wake up in the morning, I noticed my skin is a lot softer and looks hydrated and youthful. I have also noticed that some of my dry patches have diminished.
I love mixing it in my foundation as well. I do have a few ultra matte foundations that I can't always wear because it can be a tad bit drying on my "dry" skin. So instead of tossing them out of my makeup drawer I add a few drops of the face oil to my foundation & it instantly makes my foundation more blendable with a demi matte finish.
Sidenote - I always mix my foundation on a sanitized mixing palette. I do not add drops directly into my foundation bottle.
The scent is mild. I'm quite sensitive to strong fragrances and did not find the scent to be bothersome like some other brands.
2-3 drops is all I need to feel nice and hydrated. It's also absorbs quickly onto the skin so I really like that I don't feel oily after application.
The deluxe size sample contains 10mL/.33 fl oz ($10 VALUE)
A full size bottle contains 50mL/1.6 fl oz - $50 USD.
The price might seem a little steep but that's around the same price as other face oils that are currently in the market. Also, keep in mind it does contain 50mL which, IMO, will definitely last at least 12 months or longer, depending on your daily use.
I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone who needs a good hydrating face oil that will add a natural youthful glow. It's a great product for all skin types - yes, even those with oily skin.
