NYC Liquid Eyeliner | Review

When it comes to eyeliner, I'm definitely the gel liner type. However, sometimes I like to switch it up & go for the liquid liner look. And depending on my mood, I like to mix both (gel liner first, topped w/ a little liquid)


I've tried pretty much almost every eyeliner out there, but there's only a few that I will rave about. Today's review will be on a drugstore liquid eyeliner. NYC's liquid eyeliner is hands down one of my favs. I'm almost positive it was my first liquid liner as well, during my pre-MAC days & I still swear by it.

The NYC liquid liner comes in Black/Noir, a true matte black. Packaged in a black sleek tube with a thin brush applicator. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to liner applicators & personally, I prefer the thin brush style as oppose to a sponge tip. You can easily find & purchase this liner at your local drugstore. On my recent visit to Target they were having a 40% off sale on NYC products. I could not pass up a great deal so I stocked up!

PROS: 
It's affordable - less than $4 w/ tax
Phenomenal applicator - precise, thin, hair-like brush 
Buildable - without streaking
Perfect for creating a cat eye liner look with just a few strokes

CONS: 
Non waterproof - unfortunately this product is not waterproof & won't last, say -12 hrs. But will definitely hold up for about (4-6 hrs) after that, the corners start to fade. It will rub off easily if your eyes water or if you touch your eyes throughout the day.

Tip: Wipe off excess product on the rim of your open tube (like you would when applying nail polish) prior to application. Too much product on your brush will allow the product to bleed. And when going in for more product, dip just the tip of the applicator into the rim (to lightly saturate your brush) instead of the entire wand back into the tube.
