The Honest Co. Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 + REVIEW | roziecheeks.com/blog
I purchased The Honest Co. Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+ for my son & I to use while we were in Hawaii. I've tried other Honest Co. products & had no problems with them, that is, until I purchased this one.
The Honest Co. Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+ packaging claims:
- safe & gentle for the whole family
- clinically-tested
- hypoallergenic
- non-greasy
- water-resisitant (80 mins)
The Honest Co. Mineral Sunscreen Drug Facts
I honestly didn't think to read any reviews prior to purchasing this product. I really had high hopes for this product but it failed terribly for a sunscreen. For one, it's really hard to blend into your skin. When I know I'm going to be under direct sun for long periods, I like to protect my skin & load up the sunscreen. After applying the mineral sunscreen it was very visible. I'm pretty tan & after a light layer, I looked chalky & ghostly. Two layers, and I looked like I was getting ready for a Halloween party. You could really tell where I had applied sunscreen. Aside from the overly white paste it left on my skin, I got pretty sunburned only after a few hours of use. I've used many other brands in the past & have never experienced getting sunburned so quickly. I can understand if I was out for more than 4 hours in the sun, or in the water for longer than 80 mins, but that definitely was not the case while using this product.

I thought I received a bad batch because it just didn't seem like this company would sell something so ineffective. After doing much research on this mineral sunscreen, I found out that I wasn't the only one with a negative review. It appeared all over the internet that many other consumers said that The Honest Co. sunscreen left them unprotected and burnt. The bottom line is, I would not recommend The Honest Co. Mineral Sunscreen to anyone who is looking for sun protection for more than a few hours. Sorry, The Honest Co., I love all your other products but this particular one should be off the market.

Have you tried this sunscreen? I would love to hear about your experience! Xo.

I 100% agree with you! I was out with a bunch of friends at a picnic party and probably spent an hour out in the sun (there were a lot of trees, so I was under the shade for the most part) and I still got sunburnt after using this product. so horrible.
