Zuca Pro Artist - roziecheeks.com
My ZÜCA Pro Artist finally arrived & I have to say, this is probably one of the best investments any makeup artist could make.
My ZÜCA investment was long overdue. I knew I needed a better travel system for all my freelancing gigs, my old train case (which I still love, btw) was not the business for intense traveling. I could not fit all my makeup + cosmetic supplies in one train case, therefore I packed more bags & everything started to get heavy.

For those who are unfamiliar with ZÜCA, ZÜCA is simply the ultimate carry-all! Founded in 2004, ZÜCA has been developing super-durable, absurdly versatile travel carry-alls for students, adults of any profession & even pets. ZÜCA offers a wide variety of styles & colors to choose from.

Honestly, when it came down to picking out my ZÜCA, I was very indecisive on which model I wanted. I kept going back and forth between the Pro Artist ZÜCA (retails $305) & the MAC ZÜCA (retails $285 for MAC pro members) which is basically the "ZÜCA Sport" (retails $219 on ZÜCA.com) Initially, I wanted the MAC ZÜCA for obvious reasons, the MAC logo just screams "I'm a makeup artist" as you roll your way thru town. It comes with 4 MAC utility pouches plus a case. The ZÜCA sport on the other hand comes with just the 4 utility pouches, no case. Basically for those who don't have a pro card and want the same model, the Sport is your best bet. It's also $66 cheaper without the MAC logo via zuca.com. After much contemplation I decided to go with the Pro (all details below). For some reason I wasn't a fan of the wheels on the sport (they flash when in use, however I was told you can remove the batteries & the wheels sit outside of the frame) & the wheels on the pro are designed to be narrower, making it FAA approved for those who travel & will use it as a carry on. I also chose the Pro over the sport because I pay too much attention to detail & I preferred non mesh outer pockets & liked how the pro had the detailed pockets on the back. The pro also has a lifetime warranty!

The Pro Artist includes 4 large utility pouches, 1 small utility pouch & a travel cover. The utility pouches all have a clear top & solid bottom making it easy to see all your products.

Back view - Here you have a ID card  holder covered with a velcro strap. and 2 pockets below it.
Side view - (both sides are the exact same) Small zipper, great for placing business cards, change, etc. 2 large pockets, 1 with a zipper & one with out. Both have the same depth.

The inside of the ZÜCA is well padded & extremely spacious. Pockets galore for all your gizmos & gadgets!

1. upper mesh storage

2. Zipper pocket that goes all the way down to the bottom. Plus a zipper expansion if you need more space

3. Another zipper pocket that goes all the way down

4. An open pocket that goes all the way down

5. This band here with the ZÜCA logo is great for storing hair clips or pens

6. And lastly another open pocket
Each large utility pouch comes with a removable velcro ID band so you can label your bags. As a makeup artist organization is key & these pouches are so useful & a great addition to your kit. They retail $15-$17 individually. They store A LOT of product!

Even with all 5 utility pouches inside, there is more than enough space for a few more. You can literally pack an entire Cosmetic counter in the ZÜCA!

The main zipper on the ZÜCA is designed for a lock. Great if you want to secure your belongings when not in use. It doesn't come with a lock but I use a 3 digit combo lock that you can pick up pretty much anywhere for less than $5.

The travel case which is included with the pro, is a great accessory for those travelers who will check in their ZÜCA. It has the ID card feature with a cover Velcro strap on one side making it easy to identify your ZÜCA. There's a zipper feature that can be used to cover the adjustable handle area. The ZÜCA when not in use (rolling) & in a upright position, can be used as a chair. The aluminum alloy frames are made to safely support up to 300 lbs.

And there you have it, the ZÜCA Pro Artist! I'm really excited to take this new baby with me on all my 'on location' gigs! I highly recommend getting a ZÜCA for anyone in the industry. They have an entire Artist Collection that will keep you well organized & ready to travel in style. It's a little pricey but promise you, well worth it in the long run.

Xo.

How are you still liking your Zuca? Is it holding up well? I'm looking for one to use as a carryall for nail supplies. Do you think something like this will work?

Hi Amber,
I love my Zuca & yes, it's still holding up well - it's very durable! I can hold a lot of makeup in the Zuca & I bring it with me to all my gigs. I definitely recommend this, if you have a ton of nail supplies!
